Hi! I’m Kirsten Williams and I am passionate about exploring neighborhoods especially in my adopted hometown of New York City.
After a nudge from several friends, I started Round These Parts as a way to share New York City neighborhood mini-itineraries based on my wanderings and discoveries.
My City exploration has evolved and expanded over my years living in New York. Upon relocating here in my twenties, from my original hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, I first enjoyed the excitement of the City as a single, college grad. When I met my future husband at a party in Brooklyn, we teamed up sharing our love of concerts and dining out. Now, as a mom in a family with two young kids, I spend a lot of time in City parks and gathering ideas for wallet-friendly weekend activities. As a result of each new chapter in New York City, I’ve continued to grow my knowledge of neighborhood offerings.
I take pride in looking at the City through varied lenses because New York City offers something for everyone. My goal is to share my enthusiasm, experience, and advice with others.
From coffee shops to cocktail spots, playgrounds to public art, farmer’s markets to museums, and from mom-and-pops to discount stores, I absorb what makes different corners of the City tick. Then, I suggest a concise, streamlined way to experience them for yourself.
Despite this socially distant time we are in, there is still so much to see, do, and love about New York City!
Check out some of my New York City neighborhood mini-itineraries. I aim to inspire both visitors and locals alike by showing what is right here, right now, Round These Parts.
